Rules

GA Muslim Homeschoolers is a group for Muslims who homeschool or are interested in homeschooling and live in Georgia. If you are not Muslim, do not live in Georgia, or do not plan on homeschooling, but are still interested in connecting with the group, please contact an admin by emailing us at admin@georgiamuslimhomeschoolers.com. Our WhatsApp group is female only. Please introduce yourself within a few days of being added as we speak of private topics at times and would like to know who is contributing to the topic.

We are a friendly diverse community with a high level of member participation. The primary goal of this group is to provide community and support for our fellow homeschoolers. In this group, you will find discussions on a wide range of topics focused on homeschooling. Posts and chats should stay on topic and relate to homeschooling. If the chat gets off-topic, the admin may step in to keep the group focused. Members are welcome to start their own topical groups. There is also a general WhatsApp group for community messages that are not limited to homeschooling. Please request access by contacting any admin.

Rules:

1. Think positively about the intentions of your peers. No hate speech, bullying, name name-calling. We are, at the end of the day, sisters in Islam.

2. This group is open to all Muslims, you don’t have to be of a certain sect or level of practicing. Promoting any one understanding of Islam or denigrating any group of Muslims is not allowed and will be grounds for immediate removal. 

3. While politics are a part of our lives, we ask that you limit non-homeschool related controversial political discussions. This includes discussion of (but is not limited to) the promotion of anti-vax or anti-science sentiments. 

4. Posts should be relevant to homeschooling. Event posts should be limited to homeschool-related events. However, messages which are meant to gauge interest in potential meetups are allowed. For example: a flyer for a book signing would be considered spam. However a message such as “Is anyone interested in attending the book signing with me? Message me privately” is fine. Although too many of these types of messages for events or meet-ups may result in admin intervention. This group is focused on homeschooling and there are many other groups for general Muslim women hangouts and meetups. 

5. No self-promotion and no ads. Arranging an event specifically for our community or the homeschool community at large is fine. However promoting any other event, curriculum, or item is NOT allowed unless given permission by an admin. Please reach out to any admin if you're unsure.

6. Homeschool-related classes taught by parents will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to an admin if you'd like to promote one.

7. Sharing of pdf's or other works are permitted so long as permission for redistribution has been granted by the creator of the work. 

In order to facilitate an environment of support, admin may be required to enforce rules. Frequent boundary violations may prompt removal from the group.
